Glitters Story
It began at a kitchen table in 1980.
Diane, also known as “mom”, who had worked in the jewelry business since a young age, first opened Glitters from her kitchen in 1980. With her eye for jewelry and her dedication to customer service, the store quickly outgrew her kitchen, and she made her move to a local Jewelry Galleria. But even that couldn’t hold her business very long. In 1986, Diane opened her first retail jewelry store, and soon after, Glitters Fine Jewelry moved into Camelot Court.
After 25 years in Leawood’s Camelot Court, Glitters Fine Jewelry made its new home in Prairie Village in the late fall of 2021.

While we’re technically a retail business, we’re much more than that. We’re a family business in the business of helping family. Diane’s daughters, Beth and Debbie – who inherited Diane’s dedication to her staff and customers – also inherited the business. They have been joined by Patti, Andrea, Robin, Amber, Bridget and Margaret. The Glitters Girls are a unique sisterhood of jewelry experts. We provide customers with unmatched service, knowledge, and satisfaction. But beyond that, we pride ourselves on turning customers into family.
Our upscale, contemporary store has a down-home atmosphere and a team full ideas we’d love to share with you. If you need something truly special, but you’re not sure what (or how to present it), The Glitters Girls are here to help. We’ve helped grooms-to-be turn their proposals into magical moments — from billboards to a theater stage. We’ve even tucked precious gifts in balloons, ice-cream cartons, bouquets of flowers, and champagne bottles — just a few examples of our clever ideas that helped create treasured memories.
We love what we do, and we want to make shopping for fine jewelry not just pleasant, but fun! Our knowledge, imagination, and creativity are yours for the asking. All you have to do is stop in and talk with someone on our team. After all, you’re family!
